This helpful guide presents a five-step process for the selection, implementation and evaluation of the effectiveness of instructional and assessment accommodations for students with disabilities and English language learners.
The process provides a framework on how parents, educators and administrators can expect students to achieve grade-level academic content standards, learn about accommodations for instruction and assessment, select accommodations for individual students, implement accommodations during instruction and assessment and evaluate and improve accommodation use.
Information and regulations in the guide apply to students in all public schools and to students in non-public settings whose education is supported by District of Columbia public funding.
