Mayor Gray and U.S. Secretary of Education Duncan Hail Continued Improvement in District’s Test Scores
In this video and accompanying article, former DC Mayor Gray, Secretary of Education Duncan, and other local education leaders discuss DC’s results on the 2013 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). The NAEP test was administered to 4th and 8th graders in reading and mathematics.
The sample test question booklets provide examples of questions and model responses in mathematics, reading, and science. The booklet familiarizes teachers, students, and families with the format of the NAEP in these three subject areas.
Beyond Common Core State Standards in English/language arts and mathematics, DC has adopted these rigorous content-area learning standards and guides for arts, early learning, health and physical education, science, social studies, technology and world language.
